rock the classroom 501(c)(3) restores music education in underserved public elementary schools by teaching an original standards based "Literacy Through Music" curriculum. Our professional musicians use music and songwriting to complement the literacy curriculum schools are required to teach while providing a creative musical experience otherwise missing from the classroom.

By integrating music into existing curriculum, rock the classroom provides an inspiring creative experience sorely missing from most classrooms, while helping teachers improve key academic skills such as reading, writing, and comprehension.

ACPN - Arts Community Partnership Network - is a new program sponsored by the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) to support arts programs in schools. Selected schools are allocated funds to be used for arts programs.

We've been selected by The Los Angeles County Arts Commission as a part of their county-wide data base of standards-based arts programs.

We meet both the California 5th grade literacy as well as visual and performing arts standards.

Visit their website here.

The California Arts Council works for a broad public understanding of, and appreciation for, the positive impact the arts play in enriching cultural, economic, and intellectual life in California communities and schools.
